Director
of Facilities Management, Junior McClain,
speaks to Work Week participants
Work
Week Declared a Success
Erskine College wrapped up its 1999 Work Week with
a luncheon Friday attended by many alumni and friends
who donated a week of their time to stay and work in
several different departments on campus.
Junior McClain, Director of the Erskine Facilities
Management Department, told the group that Work Week
participants painted 22 rooms during the week.
Work Week participant Hilliard Allen of Due West,
who helped paint, joked that the Facilities
Management Department needed a new mission statement.
He said, It should be that every Erskine
College student should have a freshly-painted wall to
write on.
Work Week participants assisted at the seminary,
in the academic office, admissions, the library and
bookstore.
Work Week participants ate together in the Erskine
cafeteria during the week, and enjoyed socials and
meals at the homes of Erskine President John Carson
and Vice President for Development Lee Logan during
the week.
Work Week is coordinated by Dena Hodge of the
development office of the college.
We had a fun week, and we certainly
appreciate all the hard work and the time that all of
the participants gave to make this a productive week
on our campus, Hodge said.
