The SCJAS statewide annual meeting convenes at the same time as the state meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Science (Senior Academy). The Annual meeting is held in the spring during which SCJAS student papers are presented the day of the meeting followed by an Awards Banquet that night. The annual meeting provides scientific stimulation for students. As junior scientists, students research and present papers comparable to adult scientists' work at their scientific meetings. Abstracts of the students' papers are published each year in the S.C. Academy of Science Bulletin.
