Chapel & Convocation Schedule
17 credits are required of every student and can be attained by any combination of Chapel services, Convocation lectures, or Music, Art, and Theatre programs listed below. Any extraordinary circumstances that may limit a student’s ability to earn 17 credits must be approved by the Convocation Committee. If you believe your schedule legitimately warrants a reduction in Convocation credit, you must complete and submit a “Request for Reduction in Convo Credit Form” (available in Student Services). This enables the Convocation Committee to evaluate each request on a case by case basis and to respond to your request in a timely fashion. The office of Student Services will keep a record of accumulated Convocation credits. You are advised to periodically check the status of your credit level. Student Services posts an update outside of their office every Friday at 12 noon. Any student who fails to reach the requirement of 17 credits by the end of the semester will be fined $15 for every lacking credit. All student fines must be paid in the Business Office in Belk Hall in order to receive final grades, to enroll for the following semester, or to graduate. Seniors need to be especially careful to meet these requirements during their last semester in order to prevent last minute crisis.
