Erskine Homecoming 2023, set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13-14, gets a jump start at 9 a.m. Friday with the 50th Annual Erskine Open Golf Tournament at The Links at Stoney Point on Lake Greenwood and finishes strong Saturday with Flying Fleet Football playing Carson-Newman University at J.W. Babb Stadium in Greenwood, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Bookended by the Erskine Open on Friday morning and Fleet Football on Saturday afternoon, on-campus opportunities will be offered for eating good food, enjoying family fun, and renewing old friendships.
Homecoming 2023 is being hosted in conjunction with Family Day, sponsored by Student Development, and Future Fleet Day, sponsored by Admissions. Registration begins at 10 a.m.— Homecoming registration under the Watkins Breezeway, Family Day registration on the Watkins Porch, and Future Fleet registration at the Alumni House.
This year’s Homecoming offerings include the President’s Reception in the Bowie Arts Center from 11 a.m. to noon and a Faculty Meet & Greet in the lobby of Daniel•Moultrie Science Center, also from 11 a.m. to noon, as well as a complimentary Tailgate Lunch for alumni (registration required), Family Games and Inflatables, and Pictures with Ace (Erskine’s mascot), all on the Mall.
Music will be provided by “Fred Engler & and the Trouble Shooters” (led by Fred Engler ’99). A special exhibit, The Rocks Cry Out, will be on display at the Bowie Arts Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food trucks from Mama’s Sweet Shoppe and Kona Ice will be on the Mall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Reunions being planned for Homecoming include gatherings for the Classes of 1972 and 1973 in the Founders Room and the Class of 1993 in the Alumni House.
