Who Are We?
Erskine College is a four-year Christian liberal arts college affiliated with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church. Since our founding in 1839, generations of students have found a second home here at Erskine. This is more than just a college—it’s a place to grow as a community in knowledge, faith, and maturity.
Our students get a high-quality education from a biblical worldview. With just over 850 students enrolled in undergraduate studies, Erskine follows a personalized approach to academics and extracurriculars. We don’t believe in settling for a one-size-fits-all college experience. We equip our students to Rise Above the Ordinary.
Where are we?
Erskine College is located in Due West, a town of 1,200 residents located in Abbeville County, South Carolina. The town and the college, with a number of antebellum buildings, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Due West is located near lakes and recreational areas and within easy access to Interstate Routes 26 and 85 and the cities of Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia, and Greenville. Greenwood and Anderson are each about 20 miles away.

Community
For generations, Erskine social life has centered around nurturing strong lifelong friendships. Our small student population and rural setting encourage close community, creativity, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Many students form deep connections through involvement in residence life, campus ministries, and a variety of student organizations.
Athletics
We are the Erskine Flying Fleet, a name adopted in 1929 when sportswriter Carter “Scoop” Latimer commented on our football team’s impressive use of a wide-open passing attack. Today, Erskine competes on the intercollegiate level in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II as a member of Conference Carolinas.
Our athletics programs are defined by “The Fleet Way”: a self-sacrificing, relentless pursuit of the remarkable. We strive to develop programs that are Christ-centered, competitive, and community-focused.
