Meet the Admissions Team

Chris Craft – Admissions Counselor

Hey guys! My name is Chris Craft, and I am an Admissions Counselor here at Erskine. I graduated from Erskine in 2020 with a degree in History and minor in Business Administration. During my time at Erskine, I served as a Resident Assistant and was a part of organizations such as SGA and the Euphemian Literary Society. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and spending time with my dog, Rocky. I look forward to helping future Erskine students grow and succeed.

Julio Delgado – Admissions Counselor

Hey, guys! My name is Julio Delgado, and I am an Admissions Counselor here at Erskine. I attended Lander University and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Political Science. I spent most of my spare time helping my local church and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Lander. In March 2019, I married my beautiful wife. We have two daughters: Eliana and Selah. I am excited to see Erskine students grow not only in intellectual understanding, but also as whole beings. Feel free to drop by my office any time!

Evan Hughes – Admissions Counselor

Hey, y’all! My name is Evan Hughes, and I am an Admissions Counselor here at Erskine, after serving as a student ambassador for two years. I grew up right down the road in Abbeville, South Carolina, but Due West became my home away from home when I became a student at Erskine College. In 2021, I graduated from Erskine with a B.S. in Business Administration. As a student, I was involved in many organizations, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Erskine chapel worship team, Choraleers, Chamber Singers, and Onward and Upward (OAU). I also served as a Resident Assistant and helped to found Erskine’s College Bass Fishing Team. I am excited to help future Erskine students find their niche on campus too! I enjoy hunting, fishing, singing, playing the guitar, and spending quality time with family and friends. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for the years to come!

David Pendergrass – Accelerated Ministry Program Counselor

What’s going on, everyone? My name is David Pendergrass, and I am your friendly neighborhood Accelerated Ministry Program Counselor here at Erskine College! Born and raised in the Metro-Atlanta area, I came to Due West as a student in 2008. I was involved with everything from SGA to Student Life to Choraleers to Literary Societies, also serving as class president my senior year. Like many Erskine students, I met my wife here, and we now have two kids and a slew of pets. After I graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, God took me on a journey far outside what I expected when I completed my degree. Before coming back to Erskine College to work, I started a small business, and I credit this institution with helping me to be prepared for such a venture. When not assisting students as they prepare for a life after high school, I enjoy Marvel comics (Spider-Man to be specific) and a good theology book. I look forward to getting to know you better as you look at how Erskine could be your college home! Reach out, and let’s start a conversation.

Carly Rogers – Admissions Counselor

Welcome! I am an Admissions Counselor here, which means that I assist future students in deciding whether Erskine will be their home for the next four years! I graduated from Newberry College in 2019 with a degree in Psychology. In college, I spent most of my time studying, working philanthropy events with my sorority, or dancing at athletic events. In my free time now, I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews, reading, or teaching dance. I am very thankful to be joining the Erskine family and working with such a great group of admissions counselors. Feel free to stop by my office at any time! I can’t wait to help you find your place here at Erskine College.

Dawn Smith – Director of Admissions

Hello! My name is Dawn Dobbs Smith, and I am the Director of Admissions here at Erskine College.  For 15 years I owned a small business that designed, manufactured, and sold children’s clothing. After that, I made the decision to begin investing my life in Christian organizations committed to helping young people grow intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. Here at Erskine, it’s a joy to work with prospective and incoming students at such a pivotal moment in their educational careers. Outside work, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, our two beautiful daughters, and our Goldendoodle puppy. I also love to offer hospitality to friends and family whenever we can!

Dr. Tim Rees – Dean of Enrollment

Hello, everyone! I am the Dean of Enrollment Management here at Erskine, which means I have the pleasure of working with the admissions and financial aid offices. I have worked in higher education for almost 15 years in exclusively Christian institutions. Prior to that I worked in the insurance industry and served in the Marines with my last duty station being in Greenville, SC. What I like most about working at a school like Erskine is the close-knit community and ability to assist students one-on-one. At bigger colleges that is not always possible. Everyone I have met in my time here really enjoys what they do and where they get to do it. I think it can be best described as a family. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our youngest son as well as being active in church activities.
