Students\, faculty\, staff\, and the public are welcome to attend. Admission is free![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Dr. Martha Merritt is dean and the Carole M. Weinstein Chair of Global Education at the University of Richmond. \nShe has lived and worked in five countries\, including four years at Oxford University where she earned her doctorate in Russian politics. She has taught political science and peace studies\, and guided global engagement for Richmond\, the University of Notre Dame\, and the University of Chicago. Her priorities are connecting the local and global as well as deepening faculty and student connection abroad. \nFleet Fellowship credit will be offered for this event.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The Joseph T. Stukes Lecture series brings a distinguished lecturer in history to Erskine College each year. The fund was established by students and colleagues of Stukes\, who served as professor of history and vice president for academic affairs at Erskine College. This year’s lecturer is musician Micah Hendler.\nSpeaker Bio\nMicah Hendler\, creator of the Jerusalem Youth Chorus\, uses music to address social conflict. Co-founder of Raise Your Voice Labs and co-director of music for Braver Angels\, he holds a degree in International Studies and Music from Yale University. \nFor his innovative projects in music and social transformation\, Micah has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. His work has also been featured in The New York Times\, The Washington Post\, Forbes\, The Jerusalem Post\, and on NBC. \nThe Stukes Lecture Series\nThe Joseph T. Stukes Lecture Series brings a distinguished lecturer to Erskine College each year. The fund was established by students and colleagues of Stukes\, who served as professor of history (1966-74) and vice president for academic affairs (1966-71) at Erskine College.
