DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”none”]Join us October 27\, 2026\, to welcome Tobin Cassels as he speak on Honoring Christ in the Workplace. Convocation credit will be offered to students for attendance.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”none”]\nTobin Cassels\nOnly 13% of all family-owned businesses are passed down to the third generation. Tobin became President of his family-owned company\, Southeastern Freight Lines\, Inc.\, in 2001. \nTobin first began working at Southeastern as a trailer shop mechanic in 1973 when he was thirteen years old\, making $1.65/hour. He began working full-time in 1981 after graduating with a degree in economics from Washington & Lee University. \nTobin learned the business from the ground up by working in the shop\, the warehouse\, and serving as both a pickup and delivery driver and an over-the-road driver. He became a Christian through the influence of his boss and mentor during his late twenties. \nSoutheastern Freight Lines is a non-union\, regional\, less-than-truckload carrier operating 89 service centers located in 13 states and Puerto Rico. Southeastern has 8\,600 employees and annual revenue of $1.7 billion. Since its founding in 1950\, Southeastern has never had a layoff. The Cassels’ family purpose statement for owning and operating Southeastern is to “Impact Lives and Honor God.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
