Erskine campus ranked No. 5 in safety nationwide

Erskine’s historic campus: one of the safest.

Erskine College and Seminary has been ranked among the top 10 safest colleges and universities nationwide, according to a list released last month by StateUniversity.com, a leading website for college information.

Erskine rose to fifth place in the rankings this year, up from the No. 7 slot last year, and maintains its position as the safest school among colleges and universities in South Carolina on the website’s Safest Schools by State list.

As part of the Safest Schools ranking, StateUniversity.com analyzed crime statistics from 450 colleges and universities and assigned a safety ranking to each school.

“Student safety and campus crime are sometimes overlooked during the college evaluation process,” said Dominic Mazur, founder of StateUniversity.com. “We believe it is important for students to be aware of crime on campus and in the surrounding community.”
