Blood glucose and other tests were available at the Health Fair.

The Erskine Wellness Health Fair brought a number of healthcare providers and community organizations to the Watkins Student Center Monday.

Coordinator for Residential Learning and Development Jessie Estep said students earned convocation credit by visiting stations at the fair for blood pressure readings, blood glucose tests, body composition measurements and posture assessments.

Students also used  “Fatal Vision” goggles while driving a golf cart to simulate impaired driving, in an activity conducted by the Erskine College Police Department.

Participants included AnMed; Abbeville Area Wellness Center; Senior Connections; Hospice; Durham Chiropractic; American Cancer Society; Beyond Abuse (formerly Sexual Trauma & Counseling Center); Cornerstone; and the Erskine College Police Department.

Many members of the Erskine community took the opportunity to donate blood at the AnMed bloodmobile, which remained in the Bowie Arts Center parking lot until 3:30 p.m.
