Refugee ministry is topic for Cardwell Lecture

Elinor Griffin, right, poses with Kay Burklin.

Elinor Griffin, a 2016 magna cum laude graduate of Erskine College, returned to her alma mater April 5 to deliver this year’s Frances Cardwell Lecture. The Cardwell Lecture Series brings a successful female graduate to the campus each year to speak to the student body.

Griffin, who serves as Refugee Ministry Coordinator for Outreach North America, shared the podium with Kay Burklin, refugee liaison for Mission to the World (MTW), as she did on a previous visit to campus last spring. Read about Griffin’s work here.

The Frances Cardwell Lecture Series is presented in memory of Frances Livingston Cardwell, who served as dean of women, academic counselor, and professor of English at Erskine between 1953 and 1977.
