Business honor society inducts new members

Four Erskine College students were inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society in 2018. Junior and senior business and sport management majors in the Economics and Business Department who rank in the upper 20 percent of their class may be inducted into membership

“While nearly 300,000 students receive bachelor’s or master’s degrees in business each year, only about 4,000 are inducted into lifetime membership in Sigma Beta Delta,” Assistant Professor of Business Administration Tracy McCurry says.

Sigma Beta Delta has established more than 225 chapters at schools in 45 states as well as at one international institution.

This year’s inductees were juniors Ritwik Bhriguvanshi of Patna, India, Katherine Deak of Norfolk, Va., and Sara Dooley of Pickens, S.C.; and senior Edoardo Gullino of Borgo San Damalzzo, Italy.

The mission of Sigma Beta Delta is to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management and administration, and to encourage and promote aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind. Sigma Beta Delta was established to honor students who have attained superior records in business programs in schools and colleges with regional accreditation.
