Stepson of C.S. Lewis to speak at Erskine

Douglas Gresham, stepson of renowned scholar, author, and Christian apologist C.S. Lewis, will visit the Erskine campus Thursday, Feb. 28, speaking at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall about growing up in the Lewis household. After his address, “My Memories of Jack,” a question-and-answer session will be offered.

A reception will follow in the foyer connecting Memorial Hall with the Moss Mathematics and Music Educational facility.

An actor, biographer, film producer, and executive record producer, Gresham lives in Malta with his wife Merrie and is in the United States to promote the first live professional stage production in North America of The Horse and His Boy, which premieres March 1 at the Logos Theatre in Taylors, S.C.

The Horse and His Boy is the fifth book in Lewis’s Narnia series, and was dedicated by the author to Gresham and his elder brother David.

“It is our privilege to have Mr. Gresham visit Erskine to speak about life with his stepfather, whom he knew as ‘Jack,’” Erskine President Dr. Robert Gustafson said.
