Day of Giving postponed to April 28

Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations Paul Bell has announced a postponement of Erskine’s planned Day of Giving. This year’s Day of Giving is now scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021. He has released the following message.

Dear Erskine family,

Hundreds of alumni are deeply mourning the loss of Robert and Barbara Lesslie and their grandchildren, Adah and Noah, who died Wednesday, April 7. This tragedy, which has left so many speechless with grief, has also served to reiterate that the Erskine community is one built on relationships. We rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.

Services for the Lesslies will be held on Wednesday, April 14, at 3:00 p.m. in Rock Hill, South Carolina. See more information here and here.

Erskine’s Day of Giving had been scheduled for April 14, but out of respect for the Lesslie family and the many alumni who are part of their very wide circle of close friends, we are postponing the Day of Giving until Wednesday, April 28. Please join us in praying for the Lesslies and Smiths (Barbara’s family) as well as the Lewis, Shook, and Adams families, who have also suffered unspeakable sadness and loss.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23
