Inauguration Week brought Erskine community together

Events and activities leading up to the installation of Dr. Steve Adamson as Erskine’s 18th president began Sept. 19 with a Day of Service focused on town and campus beautification and ended Sept. 23 with a community picnic attended by alumni, faculty, staff, students, and townspeople.

Along the way, Erskine’s fledgling debate team made its debut in the first annual President’s Cup Debate; the president visited two elementary schools in the area, where he read aloud to groups of children; a new exhibit, “Redemption,” showcased thought-provoking works of art in the luminous space of the Bowie Arts Center; a community prayer service was conducted on campus; Erskine’s history was explored in an academic symposium; gifted music graduate Mac Frampton offered a concert at his alma mater; and campus ministry groups organized Scottish games on the Mall.

Here are some photo highlights of a special week on the Erskine campus and in the surrounding community.
