Erskine Open played at Stoney Point

Erskine hosted the 49th annual Erskine Open Golf Tournament Friday, Nov. 4. A fundraiser for Erskine’s Flying Fleet Hall of Fame, the event was held at The Links at Stoney Point, an 18-hole championship course on Lake Greenwood designed by Tom Jackson.

First-place winners of the tournament were Bob Santee, Patrick Wilson, Mike Kantak, and Gary Odom, with a team score of 53.

Second place was taken by John Boetsch, Gary Boetsch, and Eric Boetsch, representing Brown & Brown Insurance; and third place was claimed by Bryce Jeffcoat, Craig Pender, Noah Duprey, and Ethan Damrom, representing the football and golf programs at Erskine.

The Longest Drive contest winner was Gary Odom. Jason Martin won Closest to the Pin.

This year, Carolina Classic Ford sponsored the Hole in One contest, offering a Ford F-150 truck as a prize.

Other sponsors included Hydro One Beverages; Coca Cola; Grace’s of Honea Path; Stoddard Dental Group; The Bleckley Inn; The Belmont Inn; Sharon Manor; Bray’z Quesadillas & More; 101 Deli, Pizza, and Pasta; and Mama’s Sweet Shoppe.
