Honorary alumnus Richard Haldeman was inducted into the Abbeville County Hall of Fame at the Abbeville County Chamber of Commerce Banquet June 14 in the Bowie Arts Center on the Erskine campus.

Haldeman served as Erskine’s public relations director from 1961 to 1995. Married to Professor Emerita of Biology Dr. Janice Haldeman, also an honorary member of the Erskine Alumni Association, he serves as treasurer of Trinity Episcopal Church in Abbeville and is active in Mental Health America and the Due West Lions Club.

Making the presentation was the Rev. Leland Beaudrot, who works with Haldeman to produce the Due West Village Observer. Beaudrot, a 1979 graduate of Erskine College and a 1983 graduate of Erskine Seminary, is married to Due West Mayor Gayle Beaudrot, a 2005 graduate of Erskine Theological Seminary.

Many thanks to Henry E. Green of the Abbeville Press & Banner for the photograph and information.
