Speaker: Dr. Steve Adamson
Theme: Christianity & Culture

Erskine President Dr. Steve Adamson

In addition to sightseeing during the day, join us for three (3) evening sessions with Dr. Steve Adamson, President of Erskine College, as he presents a series of lectures on Christianity & Culture.

These lectures will explore the culture prevalent during the lifetime of Ebenezer Erskine, whose stance for religious freedom was at the center of controversy in 18th-century Scotland and ultimately led to the establishment of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and the founding of Erskine College.

Dr. Adamson will draw parallels between the pressures to conform to culture during Ebenezer Erskine’s day and the necessity of Erskine College’s ministry today. These discussions will inspire and challenge you to be bold in your faith in a culture increasingly hostile to the gospel message.

About the Speaker:

A native of Nebraska, Dr. Adamson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska, did doctoral work at George Washington University, completed an M.Div. from Sangre de Cristo Seminary, and earned a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Aberdeen, UK. Before sensing a call to ministry, he was a successful telecommunications engineer and consultant, which led him into Christian Higher Education. Dr. Adamson has taught extensively on apologetics, church history, and theology. His book The Apologetics of Thomas Chalmers was published by Whitfield Media in 2015. He has served as President of Erskine College since January 2022, developing a new strategic plan for the institution, leading a business turnaround, revising the core curriculum, adding numerous majors, creating the Erskine Honors Institute, and establishing the Erskine Center for Worldview Studies.
