Jazz Night at Erskine

The Erskine College Music Department and Alumni Relations present Jazz Night at Erskine, featuring the award-winning Bloom/Funkhouser Jazz Duo! Join us on November 15th in the Bowie Arts Center to hear flutist Peter H. Bloom and pianist John Funkhouser present an evening of jazz classics.

About the duo: About the duo: Bloom and Funkhouser who have performed together for 30 years, have been praised for their “infectious brio” (The New York City Jazz Record), “swinging performances” (Textura Magazine), and “fine partnership, one that brings some serious spark to these tunes” (AllAboutJazz.com). The duo will play a vibrant mix of up-tempo tunes and beguiling ballads, including “Sunny Side of the Street,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” “Skylark,” “A Foggy Day in London Town,” “Georgia on My Mind,” and Cole Porter’s “Night and Day,” among other great numbers.

(For more information about the duo, visit this link).

There will be a reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres for alumni and friends beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the concert starting at 7:00 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public. Please reserve your free ticket below!
