Profile
Brianne Holmes grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated from Anderson University with a B.A. in Communications. She later attended East Carolina University where she earned an M.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing. At Erskine, she manages the marketing and communications department and often teaches EC 102, a communication skills class.
Professional Experience
While studying at ECU, Holmes taught freshman and sophomore writing classes and served as an editorial assistant for the North Carolina Literary Review. After completing her M.A., she taught middle and high school English in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. She began working at Erskine in July 2019.
Publications
Holmes enjoys writing fiction and poetry, with occasional forays into creative non-fiction and devotional writing. Her work has appeared in a number of literary journals including As Surly As the Sun Literary, Foreshadow Magazine, Heart of Flesh Literary Journal, Relief, Solum Journal, The Sunlight Press, and Underwood Press.
Personal Interests
In her spare time, Holmes enjoys baking, reading, writing, solving crossword puzzles, and drinking hot beverages, especially decaf coffee.
