Drew Wallace transitioned into his role as Associate Athletic Director for Operations & External Relations in the Summer of 2020. His responsibilities include recruitment management for the Athletics Department, oversight of the Sports Information Department, and assistance with compliance. He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University in 2010 and currently teaches Sport Management classes in the Business Department at Erskine.
Before his promotion to Associate Athletic Director, Wallace spent 13 years with the Flying Fleet Basketball program. After four years as an assistant coach, he became Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach in 2013-14. Also serving as Recruiting Coordinator, he was responsible for the team’s recruitment of student-athletes and significantly increased the size of the basketball program after 2007. He recruited several Conference Carolinas All-Conference players, as well as a Conference Carolinas Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year. Wallace assisted the Fleet to their most successful two-year span (2012-14) in program history since joining NCAA Division II. He also recruited Erskine’s revived Men’s Golf team and first Women’s Golf team, which both began competition in the Fall of 2008.
Wallace is a 2007 graduate of Erskine College where he earned a B.S. in Sport Management and Business Administration. He played four seasons of basketball, two of those as a starter, under Coach Mark Peeler (now Director of Athletics). Mainly known for his defensive play, he was also a career 36% three-point shooter. He was a member of the Academic All-Conference team in his junior and senior years. His graduating class won 53 games in their four-year span, which is the most for any class at Erskine since the school became a member of NCAA Division II in 1992.
Wallace is married to Kathryn, a former NCAA Division I swimmer at Gardner-Webb University, who is currently an elementary school teacher. The couple has a son, Orlando, who was born in May 2016, and a daughter, Sidney Belle, who was born in March 2019. They reside in Due West, S.C.
