Profile

Jim Sanderlin grew up in a U.S. Army home and graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina with a master’s degree in music. After spending a decade in music, teaching, and ministry in Tennessee and North Carolina, he transitioned to nonprofit management and development. This led him to The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., where he served as Senior Assistant to the President for Donor Relations, focused on the Southeastern United States.
 
Sanderlin joined Erskine as vice president of advancement in February 2026. He leads the advancement team in fundraising, alumni relations, and career services and oversees the Marketing and Communications Office. He is currently writing a series of pieces on the American Revolution in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. You can find the series here.
