Profile
Dr. Mary Gibson grew up in Central/Clemson, South Carolina. She holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration, an M.S. in Forensic Psychology, a D.B.A. in Accounting, and a Ph.D. in Psychology. Her academic and professional focus centers on accounting, business management, and the study of human nature. She is passionate about preparing students to pursue God’s will for their lives through ethical accounting practices, including the principles outlined in the Code of Professional Conduct: responsibilities, public interest, due care, integrity, objectivity, independence in practice, and understanding the scope and nature of services (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 2020).

Dr. Gibson’s professional background spans all aspects of accounting, including profit and nonprofit accounting, governmental accounting, and business management. She has served in a wide range of roles, from managing high-volume treasury operations involving millions of dollars daily to providing individualized, one-on-one training and development. This scale of experience has equipped her with both strategic and hands-on expertise across diverse financial environments.
Personal Interests
Gibson joined Due West ARP, 2026.
She and her husband Steve enjoy attending sports events and activities involving their children. They also enjoy taking educational and fun family trips, including camping at the beach and encountering bears in the mountains. Gibson also enjoys trying different cooking recipes.
