Profile

Dr. Noble Edmisten is an Assistant Professor of Education, teaching courses in Secondary and Physical Education. Edmisten completed his B.A. in Secondary Social Studies Education and his M.Ed. at Anderson University before earning his Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning at Clemson University.

Before coming to Erskine in 2023, Edmisten taught high school Social Studies in Texas and middle school Social Studies in South Carolina. At the collegiate level, he served as a Graduate Assistant and Adjunct Professor at other institutions.

Research and Projects

Edmisten’s research focuses on creating equitable educational spaces, where students from all walks of life can enter a classroom that provides a rigorous curriculum, an involved educator, and the love of Christ. Outside of research-based projects, Edmisten is working on historical fiction novels that spark interest for young readers in historical events and figures.

Personal Interests

Edmisten and his wife Mitra enjoy raising their children, Leila and Cyrus, on their small cattle farm in Anderson, South Carolina. He and his family enjoy traveling to new places and exploring natural or historic sites.
