Profile

Mrs. Garren graduated from Erskine College in 1990 with a degree in elementary education and later completed certification in special education. She and her husband, also an Erskine graduate, have been married for over 30 years.

Garren began her degree teaching in Greenwood, S.C. After three years, she moved to Columbia, S.C. and taught for 7 years. She and her husband moved back to the Upstate and she began teaching in the Greenville area. The last 10 years of her teaching career, Garren served as an Instructional Coach in Greenville. She earned her master’s degree in education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2005.

Personal Interests

Garren and her husband have one son, who graduated in 2026 from Erskine College. They live in Simpsonville, S.C. She loves to read, watch crime shows, and travel.
