1974 Reunion

The Erskine Class of 1974 Reunion will be held Homecoming Weekend, September 27-29, 2024. Anyone from the Erskine class of 1971 – 1977 is welcome to join!

A Message from David Danehower, Class Rep for 1974

It seems like only a few years ago that my folks dropped me off in Due West in the late summer of 1970. Since then, I have developed a deep appreciation for the truth of the words my mother left me with when we parted company that day: “Some of the best friends that you will ever have will be those you make at Erskine.” My mother was a wise woman.

I think it’s just about time for us to gather with all our Erskine friends and celebrate that time! While this is the 50th anniversary reunion for the class of 1974, we are inviting Erskine friends from other classes to come and celebrate with us. We extend an invitation to members of the classes of 71-77, as well as faculty, staff, and administrators from that time.

If there is somebody you want to see, please invite them to come. If you need someone’s telephone number or email address, please contact me via email or Facebook Messenger:

Email: David.Danehower@aol.com (add this address to your contacts so future correspondence isn’t get lost as spam!)

Several of us intend to come early and stay late. Often, get-togethers like this leave too little time to visit with everyone we want to see. We intend to make this reunion different. Some of us have rented a large house at Lake Greenwood (near Cross Hill, SC) for five days (Wednesday afternoon through Monday morning) with an option to add more days. We hope our friends will stop by for a more leisurely visit. Everyone is welcomed!  If you want to join us, VRBO & Air BnB have homes for rent in the area. Search “Greenwood SC” or “Lake Greenwood SC” on those sites.

Please see the tentative schedule of events below for more information. Be on the lookout for updates on the Erskine Alumni and Alumni for Erskine Facebook pages. When you receive an email looking for a head count, be sure to reply! A letter will also be sent out mid-summer with further details.

We are hoping to make this a very memorable event for everyone. We look forward to seeing you in September!

Warm regards,
