Student photography exhibit runs through April 1

Grace Contreras with some of her own works

A reception honoring contributors to a digital photography exhibit in the Bowie Arts Center is planned for Tuesday, March 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. Convocation credit will be offered for this event.

Works by students from Erskine College, under the direction of Erskine’s Adjunct Instructor of Art Grace Contreras, as well as students from Lander University, under the direction of Lander’s Assistant Professor of Art Jon Holloway, are included in the exhibit. Students from both classes will be recognized at the reception.

Photos by Contreras and Holloway will also be displayed in the exhibit, which will run through April 1.

The Bowie Arts Center is open from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday as well as on Sunday afternoons, and also by appointment. For more information, contact Ruth Burton at 864-379-8867.

Weather update: Erskine leadership has been closely monitoring the coming winter storm. Current predictions call for ice late Saturday and into Sunday. Because roads may still be icy following the weekend storm, classes will be canceled Monday. Staff members should plan to work remotely on Monday. Students wishing to leave campus for the weekend are advised to do so after classes on Friday. Those who remain on campus are advised that there are no generators in the dorms. However, Moffatt Dining Hall is equipped with a generator. In the event of a power outage, Moffatt will remain open to provide meals, electricity, and WIFI. We will continue to monitor the storm over the weekend and will provide updates as needed.
