Student Services sponsors Financial Literacy Week

aaaaaa  Fin Lit Week cropThe Office of Student Services invited the student body to observe Financial Literacy Week on the Erskine College campus, with several lunch and learn opportunities scheduled April 13-17.

Monday’s session on budgeting was led by Vice President for Finance and Operations Greg Haselden, using a participatory exercise in which students used play money to learn more about how to handle a paycheck.

Identity theft was the topic for Tuesday; Wednesday featured “Paint a Piggy Bank” in Moffatt Dining Hall; Thursday’s session was on student Loans; investing is the topic for Friday.

The week will be capped by Budget Bingo, complete with prizes, at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Moffatt Dining Hall.

Coordinator for Campus Life Kaley Lindquist noted that April is Financial Literacy Month.
