Amazingly active alumnus caps 100th birthday by zip-lining

Congratulations to Robert W. Miller of Kingsport, Tennessee, a member of the Erskine College Class of 1939, on a fantastic 100th birthday celebration and a great honor bestowed on him by his hometown.

Miller has “pursued all types of athletics, from paragliding to hot air balloons to powered parachutes,” according to a certificate—issued by the City of Kingsport—presented with a key to the city given to the centenarian.

On the occasion of his 100th birthday, the text of the certificate goes on to say, he “zip-lined at Bays Mountain Park with friends and family while his wife Doris cheered him on!”
