Erskine College students receiving the South Carolina Tuition Grant expressed their thanks in handwritten notes to legislators during the 2018 letter-writing campaign sponsored by South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (SCICU).

Erskine was recognized for its 100 percent participation in the project, tying with Allen University. SCICU officials praised the schools in a press release, saying “Both Erskine and Allen are to be commended for having 100 percent of their respective tuition grants recipients participating in the 2018 Legislative Letter-Writing Campaign.”

SCICU President Jeffrey Perez said, “So many of our students participate in the letter-writing campaign because they know firsthand that state support for them is the difference between staying focused on academic success and being distracted by financial concerns.”

South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (SCICU), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, supports and promotes the values of independent higher education in South Carolina.
