Commencement postponed: virtual celebration to honor seniors May 2

The graduating seniors of Erskine College will be honored in a virtual celebration Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m., the originally scheduled date and time for Erskine’s 2020 commencement. The on-campus ceremony has been postponed because of  COVID-19 restrictions. The livestreamed celebration will be available on the Erskine College YouTube channel.

Graduating seniors, their families and friends, and Erskine students, alumni, and friends are encouraged to join the online audience for this tribute to the Class of 2020.

Following the livestreamed event, the celebration video will be available to view on Erskine’s YouTube channel.

The postponement of the traditional commencement ceremony “Under the Towers” of the Erskine Building is a disappointment for Erskine’s seniors and their families. It is one of a number of disruptions to the spring semester brought on by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

The Erskine College administration has announced plans for an on-campus ceremony to be held once the COVID-19 crisis has abated. A date and time for the ceremony are to be determined.
