Erskine president’s strategic initiative announcement set for Sept. 20

Dr. Steve Adamson, soon to be installed as the 18th president of Erskine College, will speak about his vision for the institution Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 5:30 p.m. in Bowie Chapel on the Erskine campus. The public is welcome.

Adamson came to Erskine with his wife Von in December 2021 and began his work as president in January 2022. He formerly served as provost and executive vice president at Arizona Christian University. He also spent more than 15 years in corporate settings in California and Virginia.

During the opening months of his tenure, Adamson has identified and focused on four “pillars” of Erskine’s Strategic Plan: Missional Fidelity, Financial Stewardship, Educational Excellence, and Expanding Reach.

Erskine’s trustees recently announced that they have given the new president an excellent performance rating.

Following the August 25-26 meeting of the Board of Trustees, Michael Whitehurst, who serves as trustee chair, said, “We are extremely pleased with Dr. Adamson’s work to date and look forward to what the Lord will continue to do through his leadership.”

The installation of Dr. Steve Adamson is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23, at 4 p.m. in the Due West ARP Church. More information and a slate of special events is available here.
