Top scholarship winners to enter Erskine’s Class of 2029

Erskine is ready to welcome the recipients of its two top scholarship awards this fall as Presidential Scholar Mary Drew Bult and Luke and Amelia Solomon Scholar Pressley Grier join the Class of 2029.
The Presidential Scholarship is the highest scholarship award offered at Erskine College, and covers tuition, room and board, and required fees, minus any state, federal, or outside scholarships and grants.
Mary Drew Bult, a homeschooled student from Columbia, S.C., is active in the youth group and youth choir at her church and has written articles for the “Family Pages” of The ARP, the denominational magazine of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Her volunteer work includes serving those with special needs in her church as well as at Camp Joy, a summer program at Bonclarken Conference Center.
“I praise God for calling me to Erskine,” she says. “I am looking forward to growing both academically and spiritually while building lasting friendships with peers and professors.” She plans to participate in the Honors Institute and hopes to complete a double major in Bible and English.
The Luke and Amelia Solomon Scholarship covers up to 16 credit hours of tuition per semester and is renewable for a total of four years.

Pressley Grier of Donalds, S.C., also homeschooled, says she is “thankful to be a tenth-generation Grier to attend Erskine College” and is “ready to make the most of it.” She is a descendant of Ebenezer Erskine Pressly, Erskine’s first president, as well as Robert E. Grier, Erskine’s second president.
A winner of five state running championships, she plans to run cross country as well as track and field at Erskine and is set to join the Honors Institute. She hopes to major in Biology with a pre-med focus, and says she is “very excited to meet new people and professors.”
