Profile

Dr. Keith D. Timms is Associate Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Chair of the Department of Music at Erskine College. He earned undergraduate music degrees from Anderson College and Erskine College, a Master’s degree from Furman University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University.

Prior to teaching at Erskine, Dr. Timms enjoyed a 30-year career as a South Carolina high school choir teacher. Dr. Timms has served as an adjudicator and clinician for numerous choral festivals, solo vocal competitions, and honor choirs. He is an active member of the College Music Society, the National Association for Music Education, and the American Choral Directors Association, and is a past president of the South Carolina Choral Directors Association.
