Vardon Cox marks 500th victory

_SBS1346-ThVardon Cox, a 1964 graduate of Erskine College who has served his alma mater as men’s tennis coach for 45 years, celebrated his 500th career victory Wednesday, April 16, when the Fleet won its final home tennis match of the season, defeating North Greenville University.

Friends and members of the team commemorated the win by writing messages of appreciation on an Erskine shirt as a gift to the coach.

Cox, who plans to retire at the end of the season, was joined by the team and members of his family as he posed for photos taken by Professor of Sociology Dr. Steve Sniteman.
