Erskine offers Limestone transfers $25,000 scholarship

Erskine College is providing Limestone University transfer students with a unique scholarship opportunity, following Limestone’s decision to close its doors. On April 16, Limestone first announced that it was considering closure, due to financial troubles. Yesterday, the university issued a statement confirming that the institution will close at the end of the spring semester.

To assist its students in transferring, Limestone held a “reverse college” fair Friday, inviting other colleges, including Erskine College, to recruit its students. In response, Erskine is offering Limestone transfer students a scholarship of $25,000 for each year they attend Erskine.

“We are deeply sympathetic toward the situation Limestone students find themselves in right now,” says Paul Bell, Erskine’s vice president for advancement and interim vice president of admissions. “We want to do everything we can to help them continue their education.”

Bell adds, “Our strong campus community and small class sizes should be a good fit for Limestone students. We believe we can offer them a warm welcome and place to grow.”

Limestone students interested in transferring to Erskine are invited to visit transfer.erskine.edu/ or reach out to the Erskine Admissions Office at admissions@erskine.edu or 864-379-8838.
