Hipp previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army in the early 1990s, an active duty officer in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Restore Freedom, and Chair of the South Carolina Republican Party. He is also the author of The New Terrorism: How to Fight It and Defeat It.
