Erskine students participate in a lab

Camp Hippocrates is a one-day event for high school students. This mini-medical school provides an excellent opportunity for students to hear from experienced faculty and physicians and learn more about the health professions.

Cost: $40 per student, $20 per accompanying parent

Camp schedule

10:30 a.m. – Welcome and Orientation

10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Medical Botany: Nature’s Pharmacy with Dr. Jan Haldeman

12:00 – 1:15 p.m. – Lunch on your own in Due West

1:15 – 2:00 p.m. – Mechanisms of Disease: The Science of Pathology with Dr. Noel Brownlee

2:00 – 2:45 p.m. – Nutrition: Food As Medicine with Dr. JuliSu DiMucci-Ward

2:45 – 3:00 p.m. – Break

3:00 – 3:45 p.m. – Literature and Medicine with Dr. Dennis Kinlaw

3:45 – 4:30 p.m. – The History of Medicine with Dr. Alessandra Brivio

4:30 – Campus Tour and Anatomy Specimen Demonstration with Dr. Noel Brownlee
