Ready to share your research?

Calling all college education students and high school Teaching Fellows and Teacher Cadets: submit a research proposal for the symposium!

Your research should fit within the theme of “Research That Serves Communities.” Research strands include:

Strengthening teaching and learning (research that improves instructional practice and student outcomes)
Building supportive learning communities (research that promotes belonging, accessibility, and student well-being; focused on diverse learners such as those with disabilities, those in poverty, or second-language learners)
Leadership, service, and community partnerships (research examining how educators collaborate with schools and communities to create lasting impact)
Innovation, inquiry, and emerging practices (research exploring new ideas, technologies, and solutions to educational challenges)

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place presentations!

Prizes for college students:

1st place: Classroom Tech Bundle (iPad, Apple pen, document camera, set of Merge virtual reality cubes) and $500 Amazon gift card (total value of prize $1000)
2nd place: Classroom Tech Mini-Bundle (document camera, set of Merge virtual reality cubes) and $250 Amazon gift card (total value of prize $500)
3rd place: $250 Amazon gift card

Prizes for high school students:

1st place: Erskine College scholarship of $1,000 per semester (up to $8,000 total over 4 years at Erskine)
2nd place: Erskine College scholarship of $500 per semester (up to $4,000 total over 4 years at Erskine)
3rd place: Erskine College scholarship of $250 per semester (up to $2,000 total over 4 years at Erskine)

Proposal guidelines:

Proposals should be 300 or fewer and should describe the project and the strand under which the research falls. (Note: research topics should not be antithetical to Erskine’s values.) Click the button below to submit your proposal:

Research Symposium Schedule

  • 8:15-8:30: Arrive at Erskine; high school students set up poster presentations
  • 9:00-9:45: High school research poster presentations
  • 9:45-10:15: College students set up poster presentations
  • 10:15-11:00: College research poster presentations
  • 11:15-12:00: Panel discussion
  • 12:15: Lunch
  • 12:30-1:00: Keynote speaker during lunch
  • 1:30: Closing remarks, awards
