The Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes Collection

August 21, 2025 - May 9, 2026
Sherlock Holmes Collection

The Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes Collection, previously on display at Birmingham-Southern College since 2009, now resides in Bowie Seminary at Erskine and is open to the public. Among items in the new display are two early editions of the first Holmes story “A Study in Scarlet,” published in 1887, the original script for “The Adventure of the Black Barnet” (acquired from the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University), and more!

This collection is generously on loan from collectors Richard and Joshua Green, and the exhibit is planned to continue for the current academic year (2025-2026) with possible plans for an official opening reception.
