Profile

Al Mina, M.D., earned his B.S at Clemson University and his medical degree from MUSC in Charleston, completing his residency training in family medicine. He spent three years on the clinical faculty at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and another five in private practice before joining the Erskine faculty in 2007.

Dr. Mina primarily teaches anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience courses. With his experience as a physician, he is able to help students achieve their career goals in medicine and other health-related fields. He is also the faculty advisor for Erskine’s chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta Health Preprofessional Honor Society, and a recipient of the Younts Excellence in Teaching Award.

He is married to Erskine alumna Christie Bankes Mina ’91, who is a neurosurgeon in Greenville, South Carolina.
