Profile

Joey Elledge grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He earned a B.S. in Sport Management from North Greenville University, an M.S. in Sport Management from Liberty University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Columbia International University, where he completed a dissertation entitled, “A Correlational Study of Employee Input on Servant Leadership Characteristics of Supervisors and the Organizational Culture of U.S. Park and Recreation Organizations.” He has also authored two chapters for a book to be published in March 2024 by the Society for American Baseball Researchers (SABR) on the Dodger Stadium.

Experience

His career in sport management and leadership has brought Elledge to positions in college, community, and business settings.

His post-college experience began in Francis Marion University’s athletic department, where he gained valuable experience with sports marketing, sponsorship and fundraising, coordinating athletic events, and supporting student-athletes. In the University of South Carolina’s athletic department, he worked in the ticket office supporting Gamecock athletic fans and Gamecock Club members with ticketing needs.

Elledge served his community at the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, where he spent four years working with facility management, athletics, and programming needs at various parks. His commitment to innovation led him to join the start-up sports tech company Snap! Mobile where he has served as a Customer Success Manager for the Snap! Raise platform.

For four years, Elledge taught at Lander University. He has also worked with sport management students at North Greenville University and Columbia International University.

Personal Interests

Elledge works with Lexington County Blowfish Baseball team, and has served at the Harvest Church in Lexington, S.C. where he helped launch a sports ministry campaign.

He is married to Katie Elledge. The Elledges and their three dogs, Sammy, Cookie, and Boone enjoy camping together as often as their schedule allows. As an avid sports enthusiast, Elledge proudly supports the Chicago Cubs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Carolina Panthers, and NASCAR.
