Jazz pianist to perform in Memorial Saturday

The Erskine College Department of Music will welcome Deanna Witkowski, pianist, composer, and arranger, to the Erskine campus later this week. She will present a concert Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

This event is free and open to the public. Convocation credit will be offered to Erskine students who attend.

Terry Teachout, a critic for The New York Times, credits Witkowsky with “Exceptional taste and imagination, considerable harmonic resourcefulness, and the rare ability to shed striking new light on familiar material.”

The program will include classical, jazz, and hymn-inspired works.
