Bowie Arts Center

New exhibits at Bowie Arts Center scheduled for Sept. 26-Dec. 15

Bowie Arts Center at Erskine College presents two intriguing exhibits this fall. “The Word Made Visible” by Grace Carol Bomer and “Piercing the Veil” by Brian Hibbard will be displayed from Sept. 26 to Dec. 15. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.

“Grace Carol Bomer’s concern is the human condition surprised by the grace of God,” according to the artist’s website. “The Incarnation is the focal point of her work. It is a visual reminder of God’s extravagant grace.” Bomer works out of Soli Deo Gloria Studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

Brian Hibbard’s work was most recently displayed at the Bowie Arts Center in the multi-artist exhibit “Jubilant Fields and Captivated Heights.” In his artist’s statement, he says, “There is a necessary balance between what is real and our freedom to create, interpret and explore within this reality.”

Join us for the opening reception Friday evening, or, for those attending Erskine’s Homecoming 2024 celebration, visit the Bowie Arts Center Saturday, Sept. 28, when it will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The mission of the Bowie Arts Center is “To bring art and people together through meaningful exhibitions that integrate the Christian faith and in the provision of engaging community programs.”
