The Towers Of The Erskine Building

Erskine commencement set for May 10

College and seminary graduates will be recognized at Erskine’s 2025 commencement ceremony Saturday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. under the towers of the Erskine Building. U.S. Rep. Sheri Biggs (pictured at left), elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024, will deliver the commencement address.

The first woman to represent South Carolina’s Third District, Rep. Biggs serves on three Congressional committees: Homeland Security, Foreign Affairs, and Science, Space, and Technology.

Awarded a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from Carolina Bible College, Biggs went on to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Samford University. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner; a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner; and a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard.

Biggs’s healthcare career has included work as an intensive care unit nurse and a nursing home administrator. She has served with distinction in the Air National Guard and is a recipient of the Aerial Achievement Medal. She was medical crew director for five combat missions and three combat support missions during Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, in which U.S. forces remained in Afghanistan after combat operations ended to assist Afghan National Defense and Security Forces and conduct counterterrorism operations.

This year’s commencement ceremony will be preceded at 8:30 a.m. Saturday by a Service of Blessing for Seniors in Lesesne Auditorium.
