Dr. Jason Huddleston (known by his students as “Dr. Hud”) is Associate Professor of English, focusing on modern British and world literatures. His teaching specializations include courses on film and television, weird and speculative fiction, and the use of narratives and visual media to address global issues.

Research and Projects

Dr. Hud’s writing is multifaceted. Academically, he has written and published on such interests as modern Native American fiction, the horror genre, and the representations of masculinity in contemporary visual media. Creatively, he writes and publishes original weird and speculative fiction under the pseudonym “Eldritch Thrum.” An anthology of Eldritch Thrum short stories in currently in production. He also writes, publishes, and performs original lyrics and music under the stage name “dr. hud.” His most recent project—an album entitled murmur—will be available October 24, 2024, on multiple streaming services.

Personal Interests

Dr. Hud’s interests range from the sociable (engaging people; listening to and performing music; shopping at flea markets) to the solitary (reading, hammocking, watching films, writing music and stories, and whitewater rafting).
