Historic $3 million donation boosts Annual Fund

Erskine recently received a transformational $3 million gift from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. This gift is the largest unrestricted contribution in the school’s 186-year history.

Erskine President Dr. Steve Adamson is deeply grateful for this extraordinary generosity.

“We praise God for this gift,” he says. “It is a powerful reminder that institutions which remain faithful to their Christian mission continue to receive support and encouragement. This investment in Erskine strengthens our ability to carry out our calling to educate students.”

Because the gift is unrestricted, Erskine has the flexibility to apply the funds where they are most needed, making a lasting impact across the college’s academic, spiritual, and campus life.

“It has certainly bolstered our financial position as we begin our new academic year,” says Vice President for Advancement Paul Bell ’84. “We praise God for His goodness in providing so generously in this way.”

Weather update: Erskine leadership has been closely monitoring the coming winter storm. Current predictions call for ice late Saturday and into Sunday. Because roads may still be icy following the weekend storm, classes will be canceled Monday. Staff members should plan to work remotely on Monday. Students wishing to leave campus for the weekend are advised to do so after classes on Friday. Those who remain on campus are advised that there are no generators in the dorms. However, Moffatt Dining Hall is equipped with a generator. In the event of a power outage, Moffatt will remain open to provide meals, electricity, and WIFI. We will continue to monitor the storm over the weekend and will provide updates as needed.
