Erskine to celebrate 250 years of faith in America on October 23
Erskine College is hosting its Fifth Annual Garnet & Gold Forum on Friday, October 23. This year’s program, entitled 250 Years of Faith in America, features an evening of music, historical presentations, and elegant dining.
The forum’s central celebration will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Erskine’s historic Memorial Hall. Three student ensemble groups—the Erskine Choraleers, Fleetones, and Chamber Singers—will join with historian and author Rod Gragg in a memorable tribute to 250 years of America, honoring the role that faith has played throughout the nation’s history. The Erskine musicians, under the direction of Dr. Keith Timms, will present a selection of patriotic songs, interwoven with historical presentations by Gragg.
Tickets are available now for the program at Memorial Hall and may also be purchased in person at the event (cash, check, or charge accepted). General admission is $25 ($10 for students).
Prior to the concert, a semiformal dinner will be held at the Bowie Arts Center at 5:45 p.m. with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. The price for a dinner and show ticket is $100 per person, or a table seating up to eight can be purchased for $800 with show tickets included in that price. To reserve your space, RSVP for the dinner & program online by the end of business on Monday, October 19.
The evening’s special guest, Rod Gragg is a noted historian and lecturer at Coastal Carolina University, who has written more than twenty books on historical topics from America’s Colonial Era through World War II.
One of his titles, My Brother’s Keeper: Christians Who Risked All to Protect Jewish Targets of the Holocaust, was a finalist for the national Christian Book Award, and his collected work on the American Revolution earned the 2025 Moss History Award from the South Carolina Daughters of the American Revolution.
This year’s Garnet & Gold sponsors include: Robert F. Ingram & Family, the Charter Institute at Erskine, and Sonrise Farm & Garden. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
