The Department of Music at Erskine is committed to helping each student discover how to develop their own musical gifts as an individual, and to share these gifts with the community. Music study is intensely personal and yet also displayed for the public—in recitals, ensemble concerts, and other events. Theoretical and historical knowledge acquired in the classroom is put into practice in lessons and rehearsals, and vice-versa.
A walk through our scenic, hidden campus puts you in touch with the musical and spiritual life of Erskine College. The sounds of students rehearsing for recital, ensembles performing in concert, and musicians leading worship are evidence of the vital part music plays in an Erskine liberal arts education.
