Visit the Arboretum

Enjoy the arboretum in person!

The Janice Hamilton Haldeman Arboretum at Erskine, located on the campus of Erskine College, is open to the public free of charge. Visitors are welcome to explore campus and enjoy a self-guided tour of the arboretum. Our interactive map will guide you to the arboretum specimens, and our online archive provides information about each one.

Parking

Visitors are encouraged to park in the lot behind the Moffatt Dining Hall on Washington Street. The self-guided tour starts at the Sabal palmetto (the state tree of South Carolina) on the Mall side of the DanielMoultrie Science Center.

When to Visit

The arboretum is beautiful year-round, but it is especially striking in spring. The Pressly Family Heritage Gardens offer a variety of blossoms from late February through April, with a few late bloomers in May. Other trees and shrubs around campus bloom during this time as well.

Fall is also an excellent time for a visit as many of our trees provide colorful foliage, particularly in the months of October and November.

We look forward to seeing you at the arboretum!
